Happiness

Today the children listened once again to the story Maybe Something BEAUTIFUL, How Art Transformed a Neighborhood by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell.  The children identified happiness as a theme for the story.  They completed their own hand art and we made this beautiful poster that will be displayed in the main hallway by the office.

Read Across America Day at SCS

It was today!  March is a very special month as the 2nd was Dr. Seuss' Birthday.  To celebrate Dr. Seuss and reading in general,  SCS holds an annual K-5 assembly in which kids make hats to go along with a book that they have read.  Yesterday, we read the story Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson and the kids made bear headbands to celebrate Bear as a character in the story.  The kids wore these headbands to the assembly this morning.  The school and our classroom received a visit from Champ and he gave our classroom a brand new book to enjoy.  Here are a few photos from all of the excitement this morning.
