Fun with New Friends

We had a fun first day together!  I saw lots of smiles,  cooperation, and hard work starting already! We read The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn.  I gave the students their kissing hands that parents created.  The children made kissing hands for their parents today after guided discoveries of crayons, colored pencils, and scissors. We made it outside to the big playground twice and had a very relaxing lunch together in the classroom. We opened many Choice Time centers together too! These centers were the building station, blocks, puzzles and games, and the sensory table (now containing elbow pasta!) More centers will be opened in the next few days.

A Classroom Full of Super Kids

This year our classroom theme is:  "Learning is our super power!"

You will be hearing the students talk about how they all have super powers with friendships, while reading and writing, being scientists and mathematicians, essentially all throughout the day while they are solving problems and seeking to gather information.  Here is a fun bulletin board that is in the hallway.  Don't forget to stop by to see it at Open House tonight!

Welcome New Kindergarteners!

I am so excited to start the 2016-2017 school year!  It was nice meeting with families these past few days.   The children were all adorable and ready for Kindergarten.  It is going to be a fun year!
